Funboy Five / Milkshake Melon – Landmarks, Ruins & Memories split LP
Ave Phoenix Records
Funboy Five/Milkshake Melon- Landmarks, Ruins & Memories LP. Funboy Five are a cult punk/new wave band formed in Hemel Hempstead, England, by Mick Sinclair in 1979 after the demise of his former band the Anal Surgeons, who recorded and released music in 1978. Funboy Five’s debut single was released on the Cool-Cat-Daddy-O label in January of 1980 and includes two killer tracks 'Life After Death' and 'Compulsive Eater', both of which are on this reissue. That single became Funboy Five's only vinyl release during their initial 18-month existence, although the group also recorded a radio session for the John Peel Show, some of the songs featured on the show are also included here. Milkshake Melon was a Mick Sinclair solo project that released a 10 song cassette called ‘A Cassette By... Milkshake Melon’. 7 of the songs from that cassette are included here as well. All tracks have been remastered and this deluxe reissue includes a very nice looking printed inner dust sleeve with liner notes and anecdotes from the band members themselves. Import from Italy.
